I believe that rolling out the remaining songs this way compounds the growth of the project, giving every song it’s deserved moment. ### story:

This is the album that changed it all for me. 2016 I was going to call it quits, instead I shut myself off from the world, locked myself in the studio and made 60 songs. From there I chose a few I was going to release on a weekly basis as part of an artist playlist rather than dropping an album in one go.

It was truly the most fun I've had releasing music, not only was it challenging, it completely changed my perspective and most importantly the trajectory of my career. I rejected the standard, went against the grain, grew from 1,000 monthly listeners to just about 150k in a few months, hit over 2 million streams. This was all throughout the crypto run up of 2017, Hurricane Maria striking PR and having to bring my grandfather to live with us while things settled after the storm.

Infinite feels like this all over again. I feel inspired to release my art in new, exciting ways and I can't even imagine what the next few years will bring to my life.

W3b crossover with Harrison $FIRST.

im super excited to announce this song in collaboration with Harrison $FIRST. The 1/1 mint will go live Friday on Catalog.

Harrison and I met on twitter around Aug 2021 (damn, feels forever ago) we connected because of our similar experiences in web3. Harrison launched his social token $FIRST and has been building his community since 2019.

He heard my music, checked out my social token on Rally and we instantly clicked. We didn’t talk collaboration until shortly after but we had a good idea of what we wanted to bring to the world by combining our talents and experience to drop something special.

This is exactly how *REAL* came about. I had a rough demo of the song and I knew performance wise it was spot on. I scrapped some of my verse parts and made space for Harrison to come and do his thing. He killed it.

The music production on the OG demo was good but I knew it needed to be reworked. Sonically I wanted something cohesive that complemented are parts. I sent the a cappella to my collaborator in Argentina and he did an amazing job at recreating the music and increasing the production value it deserved. Melodically there is a lot subtleties and textures but everything is in its respective pocket, with something fresh appearing on every  listen.

## Oracles + infra

I want to start here because these technologies helped me truly understand the power of public blockchains, smart contracts and the systems/infrastructure that bring it all together. My first ambition in crypto back in 2016 was to launch a startup utilizing blockchain technology to disrupt and possibly improve upon the inefficiencies and shortcomings of music royalties. I wanted to begin by integrating this “startup” into my label and publisher as a proof of concept knowing that it would be feasible due to the advantage of owning the music in addition to not having to negotiate with intermediaries.

**B. Scaling :**

This needs no introduction. I have been following Matic since inception, they originally launched as an IEO through [Binance Launchpad.](https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/360026114611) I understood that for the Ethereum blockchain to scale efficiently, complementary technology was necessary since. Ethereum is technically “featureless.” 

**C. Decentralized Storage**

Decentralized storage was definitely an “aha moment” for me in crypto. It was “easy” to understand and most importantly easy to explain as a potential use case to crypto skeptics. When I first came across Arweave, Sia, Storj or Filecoin IPFS I thought they were just simply applications and it didn’t really click for me until I began to see other apps integrate them as solutions for storage. (e.g. Mirror, Zora, Catalog)

The last point is FACTS. We’ve been hearing about privacy so much that I think we’re desensitize. I don’t think thats a good thing, but at least the avg. person is becoming aware. (and paranoid)

## Tabú as fearless artistry.

Tabu is a latin future funk inspired by some of my favorites, like Daft Punk, Dua Lipa and The Weeknd. Music NFTs spark my creativity and have removed the hesitance whenever I have new music to bring to the world.

My songwriting/recording process is very spontaneous, *Tabú* was pure energy, I recorded the song in less than two hours and sent it out to produce the very next day. My producer Daniel (Shine) in Argentina knows what I am capable of and has been pushing me to explore other genres to elevate my sound and *Tabú* is the result of one of many styles we are exploring to drop as a part of Infinite.

I’ve been experimenting with this sound since 2017 but it was collecting dust in the hard drive. As a Reggaeton artist there are certain expectations. Imagine arriving to the studio and being told to create music for the club, Tik Tok, Spotify playlists, etc. Sure, I’ll play the game but I am more excited about how I want to actually play it. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed creating it. For a lot of us the *muse* takes possession and once we deliver, enthusiasm and hope drift away, for this reason we selflessly release the art into the world.
